

It's only good start of the game when you actually care about common weapons and outfits, but that won't last long. Wasteland weapons/outfits is just straight up bad, as it will substantially increase how much crap you get and force your explorers to return much sooner from hitting the 100 item limit. Wasteland caps is nice, but not really necessary in a late game vault when caps will absolutely never be an issue. On exploration wasteland junk is good, as based on how the drops work it will probably give you more legendary junk (if your explorer is going out all the way of course).

I believe the only pets that will work for questing (standard and random wasteland ones) are damage, damage resistance, and health. The wasteland pets you mention are only for exploration.
